Milan Metropolitan Safety Project: interventions for pedestrian safety continue.
The installation of devices dedicated to pedestrian safety on the road network managed by Metropolitan City of Milano continues. In particular, a control system of pedestrian crossings was installed on the S.P. 30 in the municipality of Zelo Surrigone, located about 80 metres from the intersection with Via Vittorio Emanuele, in the direction of the municipality of Gudo Visconti.
The system consists of four high-brightness LED flashing lights near the pedestrian crossings and two more external pre-signals. The pre-signalers are activated only in the presence of the pedestrian, alerting vehicles in transit and thus solving the problem of poor day and night visibility. The system is equipped with a fisheye camera that records along an area of 360 °, storing in a certified “cloud”, 24 hours a day, accessible only to staff of the Institution, everything that happens in the territory surrounding the crossing, ensuring control of the covered area and the recovery of video recordings by the Judicial Authority in case of liability in an accident.
