On Thursday, October 15, the Road Safety Student Awards 2026 took place in the Sala Consiglio at the headquarters of Città metropolitana di Milano. The event marked the conclusion of the 2025/2026 edition of “Mi voglio sicurə”, an initiative by Progetto Sicurezza Milano Metropolitana aimed at promoting a culture of road safety among the younger generations.

Over the past two years, the educational program promoted by Città metropolitana di Milano and Safety21, in collaboration with Fondazione Lorenzo Guarnieri ETS and supported by La Fabbrica, has involved over 3,600 students from 35 upper secondary schools across the metropolitan area through online and in-person training sessions.

Beyond imparting knowledge, the program aims to stimulate active participation among students, calling on them to put what they have learned into practice by creating concrete projects to promote road safety in their local areas. These projects were the main highlight of the Road Safety Student Awards 2026.

The event opened with a discussion involving institutional representatives, road safety experts, associations, and organizations dedicated to daily awareness and prevention, featuring among others the champion Giusy Versace.

This was followed by the project award ceremony. Among the schools that distinguished themselves were I.I.S. Marie Curie – Piero Sraffa, Liceo Scientifico Leonardo Da Vinci, Liceo Classico e Coreutico Tito Livio, Liceo Scientifico e Linguistico Guglielmo Marconi, and I.I.S. Carlo Emilio Gadda. A student from the latter institute, Tommaso Pacielli, took first place with “Non rispondere alla morte” (Do not reply to death), a shock advertising campaign focused on the dangers of distracted driving.

With the Road Safety Student Awards 2026, the 2025/2026 edition comes to a close while looking ahead to the next one: “Mi voglio sicurə” will continue during the 2026/2027 school year, engaging students from new schools in building a safer, more aware, and responsible mobility culture
